HSBC World Sevens Series Finale | Twickenham

23rd May 2017

Another great weekend was enjoyed by both the players and fan at Twickenham stadium on the final leg of this year’s HSBC World Sevens Series Finale. As South Africa had already secured Champions status the major prize at stake this year was pride and overall standings.

After a thrilling opening day with several highly charged games an exciting Sunday lay ahead. Finals day, some great weather and a noisy crowd meant the event had all the makings for a great day of Rugby Sevens.

With England going well, reaching the final after wins against South Africa and Canada in their Quarter and Semi Finals respectively, a large crowd remained long into the afternoon. However, an inspired Scotland team, looking for back to back victories in the London Sevens, pipped them 12-7 after Dan Norton opened the scoring with a remarkable solo effort.

This event wraps up this year’s HSBC World Sevens Series and saw England  move into second place behind South Africa in the overall standings. Please see the rest of the top 10 below.
