5th January 2017
England 7s star and assistant coach to the Fijian 7s, Chris Cracknell gives us his tips for a strong training session.
Chris’ top tips:
7s is about basics and getting those fundamentals right, starting with working on catching and passing, and basic tackle technique in terms of the individual.
In terms of the team, it is imperative to make sure that everybody understands each other’s roles, so how we attack and how we defend.
In amongst that, set-piece plays and of course the fitness elements. So everything at high intensity such as running 100m repeats, 200m repeats, and 400m repeats.
The core to training is increasing fitness, and executing the basics as an individual and together as a team.
