What’s On? | Rugby | 17th and 18th of June

16th June 2017

The rugby just keeps on coming this summer. England play the second test against Argentina, looking to secure the series 2 – 0 and with another strong side named it will take a huge effort from the Argentinians to conquer this highly motivated English side.

The Lions tour continues with another tough encounter against the Maori All Blacks, who have several players involved who have already beaten the Lions on the tour. Messrs Ioane, Ioane, Dixon, Hall and West to name  a few. The Lions will need a big performance from their squad after the midweek result and Warren Gatland will have a keen eye on finalising his starting XV with only one week to go until the 1st test.

The summer tour for Scotland and Ireland kicks into another gear as they face opening games against Australia and Japan respectively. Scotland make 8 changes to the team that played against Italy last week and Australia make only the one change to the squad that triumphed over Fiji last weekend.

For the Ireland- Japan fixture Scrum-half Luke McGrath, centre Rory Scannell and winger Andrew Conway will make their first starts for Ireland in Saturday’s Test against Japan. Ireland look to conquer their opponents and the hot and humid conditions in the first of their two test series.

Beach Rugby is introduced to Britain this weekend as Boscombe Beach in Bournemouth plays host to a leg of the European Beach 5’s tournament. It should be a great day and you can get your tickets at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/british-beach-rugby-2017-tickets-33659080215
